We are hiring a correspondent to strengthen our Africa coverage. The job will be located in the region and involve lots of travel. A knowledge of geopolitics and economics is helpful. Applicants should send a cv, a cover letter and an unpublished article of 600 words suitable for publication in The Economist to africawriter@economist.com.
The article is the most important part of the application. Anyone is welcome to apply, regardless of citizenship, ethnic origin, sex, religious beliefs, disability, sexual orientation or age. Previous experience as a journalist is desirable but not essential. What we most want is original thinking, analytical skills and good writing.
