Antony Blinken to meet Xi Jinping in Beijing, says US state department

Meeting between China’s president and US secretary of state to take place on Monday during key diplomatic trip

The US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, will meet China’s president, Xi Jinping, on Monday in Beijing.

Blinken, who is on the first visit to China by a US secretary of state in five years, is holding talks with Xi from 4.30 pm (0830 GMT), after he held more than 10 hours of talks over two days with top officials.
