Canadian officials worried country could be shut out of intelligence and tech sharing between Australia, US and the UK
Canada’s defence minister has said the country is “highly interested” in joining the second phase of Aukus, the international defence pact between Australia, Britain and the United States, amid fears the country could be shut out of crucial intelligence and technology sharing between nations.
Earlier on Monday, the Globe and Mail reported Canada was making efforts to join the group. Canadian officials are worried the county could be excluded from valuable intelligence and technology sharing between a smaller circle of nations and both the foreign affairs ministry and Privy Council are working to have Canada included, the Globe reported
