McBride, who had pleaded guilty to stealing commonwealth information and passing it to the ABC, receives non-parole term of 27 months

Former army lawyer David McBride has been sentenced to a maximum five years and eight months in jail for his role in stealing secret defence documents about the Afghanistan war and leaking them to the media.

ACT supreme court justice David Mossop delivered his judgement on Tuesday, sentencing the former army lawyer to a non-parole period of 27 months.
