England has lost almost 400 swimming pools since 2010, with the parts of the country that have the greatest health needs losing out the most.

The national body for swimming warned of “an urgent need to invest” in England’s pools, after new figures revealed the pandemic has accelerated a decade of decline in the country’s aquatic facilities.
