On the afternoon of the 29th, there was a fire at a construction site outside the radiation control area of the Ikata Nuclear Power Station in Ikata Town, Ehime Prefecture.
The fire was quickly extinguished by the workers, and according to the prefecture, there was no radiation leak.
According to Ehime Prefecture and the fire department, at around 3:30 pm on the 29th, the fire department was notified that a fire broke out during construction at the construction site on the premises of the Ikata nuclear power plant in Ikata town.
"The fire was extinguished by a worker on the spot with a fire extinguisher, and no one was injured."

The site where the fire broke out is outside the radiation controlled area where radioactive materials are handled, and the prefecture explained at a press conference that there was no radiation leakage and there was no impact on Unit 3.
Shikoku Electric Power Company and fire departments are investigating the detailed situation of the fire.
At the Ikata nuclear power plant, the decommissioning of Units 1 and 2 has been decided, and the operation of Unit 3 has also been stopped and regular inspections are being conducted. Currently, there are no nuclear power plants in operation.
