Five Kazakh Police Officers Handed Prison Terms On Torture Charges

Five former police officers in Kazakhstan’s southern city of Taldyqorghan have been handed prison terms for torturing suspects arrested during and after nationwide anti-government protests in January 2022 that left at least 238 people dead.
