George Santos should resign from Congress over his lies, Republican says

Chair of Nassau county Republican committee says Santos ran ‘a campaign of deceit, lies and fabrication’ to win third district

George Santos should resign from Congress less than a week after being sworn in, the chairman of the New York Republican’s district committee said on Wednesday, amid continuing scrutiny of the congressman’s mostly made-up résumé and growing calls for investigations of his campaign finances.

Speaking to reporters in New York, Joseph Cairo, chair of the Nassau county Republican committee, said Santos ran “a campaign of deceit, lies and fabrication” to win the third district last year.
