Gov. Newsom declares emergency in California after CDC confirms severe case of bird flu in Louisiana

As the CDC confirmed severe illness in a Louisiana patient hospitalized with H5N1 bird flu, California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency related to the virus.
