Security boosted along borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan after at least 84 people killed

Iran has said it is bolstering security along its borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan, in the first tangible sign that it suspects Wednesday’s attack on a crowd marking the anniversary of the death of a senior Revolutionary Guards commander was the work of an Islamic State affiliate.

At least 84 people died when two blasts ripped through the crowd near Qassem Suleimani’s tomb in the southern city of Kerman, four years after he was killed by a US drone strike in Baghdad.
