Italy turns to banks and insurance companies to balance tight 2025 budget

A draft 2025 budget law approved by lawmakers late on Tuesday was partly financed by banks and insurance companies as the government tried to balance electoral promises with the need to avoid adding to Italy's mammoth debt.
