Keir Starmer has been urged to thaw relations with the new generation of Labour’s leftwing to maximise the party’s vote share and avoid a hung parliament at the next election.

Senior Labour MPs fear the party is at risk of alienating its core vote as it seeks to entice more of the anti-Tory vote and continue to bridge the Brexit gap.
