Kenzaburo Oe, Nobel prize-winning Japanese writer, dies aged 88

Novelist’s subjects included pacifism and his disabled son, and he was a vocal critic of nuclear power

Kenzaburo Oe, who won Japan its second Nobel prize for literature with books about pacifism and his disabled son, has died.

His death, on 3 March at the age of 88, was due to old age, his publisher Kodansha said.
