Natalie Ward expected to become deputy, pending a change to internal party rules

Mark Speakman is the new leader of the New South Wales Liberals following a vote of the party room almost a month after the Coalition was removed from government.

The former attorney general and moderate Cronulla MP received 22 votes, while former planning minister Anthony Roberts received 13, to secure the top job on Friday morning.
