The mother of two young boys who were found dead in their Blue Mountains home by their father on Tuesday was still in hospital under police guard on Wednesday morning.

The bodies of the boys, aged nine and 11, were discovered inside the Faulconbridge home by their father who then contacted police, Supt John Nelson told reporters on Tuesday.
