A Queensland MP has paid tribute to one of his former students who was killed in a multi-vehicle crash after a 13-year-old boy allegedly stole a Mercedes from a Queensland home.

Three people died, while another was in a critical condition in hospital, after the three-car crash in Maryborough at about 10.45pm on Sunday.
