Pedro Sánchez condemns Hamas terror attacks but urges Israel to rethink operations in Gaza

Spain’s prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, has again questioned Israel’s response to the 7 October Hamas attacks, saying he has “genuine doubts” about whether the country is complying with international humanitarian law in its offensive in Gaza.

Sánchez’s latest remarks come a week after he sparked a diplomatic spat by using a visit to Israel to urge it to rethink its operations in Gaza, claiming its response to the atrocities could not “imply the deaths of innocent civilians, including thousands of children”.
