A tropical low forming near Vanuatu is expected to move west towards Mackay, but is not currently forecast to make landfall

A tropical cyclone – likely to be named Freddy – could form off the coast of north Queensland in the next three days, potentially affecting coastal areas hit by floods last month.

However, forecasters currently believe it’s unlikely to make landfall.
