At his event in Duluth, Georgia, on Wednesday, Donald Trump received a Purple Heart from a military veteran. In the video posted by an official with his campaign, the veteran told Trump he was being given the medal in honor of the “great job he’s done.”
The Purple Heart is awarded to members of the military who are wounded or killed while serving. Trump has received gifts of the medal at least two other times, in 2016 when he was first campaigning for office, and at a campaign stop in North Carolina two weeks ago.
The latest award comes as Trump is being criticized by military veterans over a report that he praised Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and the generals who worked under him during World War II.
