Ex-president posts on Truth Social that he received a letter from Jack Smith, the special counsel
Donald Trump has been informed that he is a target of the federal investigation into the January 6, 2021 US Capitol attack that his supporters staged after his electoral defeat to Joe Biden, according to the former president.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he had been provided what is often called a target letter from Jack Smith, the special counsel investigating him. People who receive target letters from federal authorities are often – but not always – indicted, to which Trump alluded on his Truth post.
