Ucraina, russi sequestrano lo staff della centrale di Chernobyl

(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, 25 FEB - La Casa Bianca ha espresso sdegno alle "notizie credibili" da fonti ucraine che lo staff della centrale nucleare ucraina di Chernobyl è stato preso in ostaggio da truppe russe, come ha scritto Alyona Shevtsova, consigliera del comando delle forze terrestri ucraine.

    "Condanniamo e chiediamo il loro immediato rilascio", ha detto la portavoce americana Jen Psaki, aggiungendo che il loro sequestro potrebbe ostacolare gli sforzi per gestire l'impianto.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an aide of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said on Thursday: “It is impossible to say the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is safe after a totally pointless attack by the Russians.”

“This is one of the most serious threats in Europe today,” Podolyak said.
