Utah mother who advised parents on YouTube to take child abuse plea deal

Ruby Franke, mother of six, expected to enter plea agreement on charges she abused and starved two of her children

A Utah mother of six who gave parenting advice on a once popular YouTube channel called 8 Passengers was expected to enter a plea agreement at a hearing Monday on charges that she abused and starved two of her children, her attorney said.

Winward Law announced in a statement Friday that the alleged abuse occurred while Ruby Franke was influenced by a relationship counselor who led her to “a distorted sense of morality”. The statement does not say what charges Franke might plead guilty to or if any sentencing agreement had been reached.
